This role is responsible for system configuration, governance, integrations, reporting, and continuous optimization to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations.</p><p>Serving as the Payroll systems counterpart to HRIS, this role partners closely with Payroll, HR Operations, Finance, IT, and external vendors to maintain data integrity, strengthen controls, and enhance the employee and manager experience.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>System Ownership & Configuration</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and optimize Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules.</li><li>Configure earnings, deductions, pay groups, time codes, accruals, overtime rules, and pay policies.</li><li>Maintain payroll-related business processes, security roles, and integrations.</li><li>Monitor inbound and outbound integrations to ensure data accuracy and system stability.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Payroll Operations & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Support payroll processing cycles through audits, validations, and issue resolution.</li><li>Ensure payroll and time data integrity through reconciliations and variance analysis.</li><li>Maintain audit-ready documentation and support SOX/internal controls.</li><li>Monitor regulatory changes impacting payroll and timekeeping practices.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Reporting & Analytics</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain payroll, time, and absence reporting and dashboards.</li><li>Support labor costing accuracy and GL integration in partnership with Finance.</li><li>Provide workforce and payroll analytics to inform operational decisions.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Enhancements & Release Management</strong></p><ul><li>Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.</li><li>Lead testing efforts including unit, regression, and UAT cycles.</li><li>Leverage Workday best practices to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience.</li><li>Experience supporting Workday Time Tracking and Absence.</li><li>Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and labor laws.</li><li>Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls.</li><li>Proficiency in Workday reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite preferred).</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Verra Mobility Values</strong></p><p>An ideal candidate for this role naturally works in alignment with the Verra Mobility Core Values:</p><ul><li><strong>Own It. </strong>We focus on high performance and drive toward breakthrough outcomes.
