About the position

Join our team as a Multimedia Specialist (Video & Photography Production)! This is a fixed hybrid role (Tuesday-Thursday in office, Mon/Fri remote) in Maple Plain, MN. Protolabs is seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Specialist to bring our brand, products, and customer stories to life through compelling video and photography. This is a hands-on, production-focused role for a creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys balancing high-quality storytelling with efficient, deadline-driven execution. You’ll play a key role in producing multimedia content that supports product marketing, demand generation, digital acquisition, and PR efforts, while helping evolve our in-house creative capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end video and photography production: concept support, planning, shooting, and post-production
  • Produce a range of content including: Product and part photography, Social and digital content (quick-turn assets), Customer case studies and storytelling videos (higher production), Internal communications and PR content
  • Edit and finalize assets using industry-standard tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Ensure all deliverables align with brand standards and campaign objectives
  • Manage and maintain in-house studio operations, including cameras, lighting, audio, and editing systems
  • Organize multimedia assets and ensure efficient workflows
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Digital teams to translate campaign goals into effective visual content
  • Participate in creative briefings and provide execution-focused input
  • Build strong working relationships through reliability, communication, and delivery
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across varying timelines
  • Balance quick-turn production needs with higher-production storytelling work
  • Communicate timelines, scope, and priorities clearly with stakeholders

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional video and photography production experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating technical and creative capabilities
  • Proficiency with: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop
  • Hands-on experience with cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently
  • Strong balance of creative eye and business mindset
  • Highly accountable and deadline-driven
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and responsive to feedback
  • Curious and eager to learn new tools, technologies, and industries
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident (green card holder) or foreign national granted refugee or asylee status due to ITAR regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, B2B, or technical industries
  • Motion graphics or animation experience
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com)
  • Experience with AI/generative tools for content production
  • FAA Part 107 drone certification
