Your Opportunity as National Account Manager, Publix (Frozen Handheld & Spreads Sales Team)

This role is a Sales National Account Manager for a Strategic Customer. You will manage Smucker’s Publix customers business plan for select portions of assigned strategic business; responsible for delivering top line sales & bottom-line profit targets for assigned categories and/or customers.

Location: Candidates must reside within 200 miles of Tampa, FL

Work Arrangements: Working from home office

In this role you will:

Build & Manage Assigned Customer and/or Categories

  • Responsible for achieving net sales targets at key customer
  • Build and maintain relationships within key customer contacts
  • Develop strategies to drive brand and category growth and achieve or exceed sales and profit goals
  • Lead negotiations for business planning, new items, key initiatives, etc.
  • Influence key customer to implement solutions through fact-based presentations that deliver results that are beneficial for both customer and company
  • Manage execution of everyday business in partnership with customer, including item setup/ maintenance, logistics and inventory management, etc.
  • Execute all agreed to programming with customer to include accurate, timely forecasting and detailed follow through; compliant with audit requirements
  • Understand retailer omni-channel marketplace and brand growth opportunities

Business Planning & Analyses

  • Communication and alignment with Director on growth opportunities
  • Perform analysis of sales and profit components, including merchandising, promotional and supply chain opportunities
  • Work with syndicated/other data sources to both manage and inform strategic and tactical trade plans
  • Effective trade budget management, accurate and timely visibility
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly sales and effectively communicate internally for production planning
  • Ad-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre/post event analysis
  • Collaborate on annual business planning, merchandising support, trade management

Accelerate Team Performance

  • Drive business planning process working closely with cross-functional business partners and provide & receive direction from Manager & Leadership on opportunities to improve P&L key metrics based on analysis of promotion, spending, and volume
  • Drive strategic partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in assigned projects involving industry organizations, supply chain initiatives, etc.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales experience with direct national account HQ management experience
  • Experience working with syndicated data (Nielsen/Circana)
  • Self-motivated and has ability to manage and prioritize multiple/diverse priorities
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to manage extended work schedules as needed, overnight travel as needed and adhere to company policies & procedures

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Experience managing the Publix account
  • Food sales experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skill set
  • Strong analytical skills, with solid P&L financial understanding
  • Experience working with POS or Card data
