Role Overview – Senior Data Engineer (Remote) We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join arenaflex’s Data Innovation Team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, develop data models, and ensure seamless data flow across development, QA/UAT, and production environments. You will partner with Studio and Project Innovation stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, leveraging a modern tech stack that includes SQL, Python, Docker, GitLab, Kafka, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements, define data quality standards, and design end‑to‑end data pipelines. Architect, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes that ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data lakes and warehouses. Design logical and physical data models, including schema definitions, table structures, and view specifications. Implement and enforce best practices for data versioning, testing, and documentation using GitLab/GitHub. Deploy containerized workloads with Docker, ensuring reproducibility and scalability across cloud environments. Manage data storage solutions on AWS S3, Snowflake, and Databricks, optimizing performance and cost. Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot data anomalies, and proactively improve reliability and latency. Lead initiatives to standardize data engineering processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge through brown‑bag sessions and internal workshops. Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend strategic enhancements to arenaflex’s data architecture. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data‑focused role. At least 2 years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python. Demonstrated expertise with cloud platforms, preferably AWS , including S3 storage and related services. Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools. Solid understanding of data lake and data warehouse concepts, with experience in Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms . Experience working with streaming technologies, specifically Apache Kafka (referred to as “Wind stream” in internal terminology). Strong version‑control skills using GitLab or GitHub , including branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and data models. Preferred Qualifications & Differentiators Master’s degree or advanced certifications in Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or related disciplines. Background in the streaming media, entertainment, or digital marketing sectors. Hands‑on experience with Looker for data visualization and dashboard development. Familiarity with PostgreSQL and other relational databases for transactional data processing. Track record of establishing data governance frameworks and data quality monitoring processes.
