Job Description:

  • As a Senior Manager, Cross Border Transportation at ShipBob, you will be responsible for managing carrier relationships and partnerships across all cross-border modes for both inbound and outbound freight.
  • This role is also responsible for managing other critical partnerships including customs brokers, 3rd party duty and tax estimation systems.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring packages are flowing through ShipBob systems and facilities in the most efficient way possible and making sure that the customers get their shipments on time.
  • You will be a subject matter expert who both manages and educates internal partners on cross border entry processes and programs (USMCA, IOSS) as well as destination country requirements and best practices to ensure adherence to environmental systems.
  • Shipping is directly related to ShipBob’s overall customer experience, and you will be able to impact it positively in a meaningful way.
  • This role reports to the Director, Transportation.

Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of industry capabilities and processes including but not limited to:
  • Ocean and Air consolidation.
  • Small parcel cross border requirements.
  • LTL and Truckload requirements.
  • Intra Europe trade (e.g. EU to GB, NO, CH) border requirements.
  • Knowledge of various cross border entry requirements is a must.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in ecommerce and shipping industry.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross border shipments.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills with the ability to take complex, detailed processes and requirements and guide understanding of essential points to business partners.
  • Project Management experience required.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills, most importantly in Microsoft Excel, and Powerpoint. Experience working with PowerBI, and SQL is a plus.
  • Flexibility to time shift working hours (from time to time) to support Europe, Asia and Australia operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Project Management/Engineering.
  • Licensed Customs Broker is a plus.
  • Ability to Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
