<strong>Overview<br><br></strong>Come join the Identity team as a Senior Software Engineer! The ideal fit works with appropriate internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for a set of features. Understands and provides feedback for proposals for architecture, with technical leadership from others. Contributes to identifying dependencies, and incorporates them into the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight. Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable with minimal supervision. Learns about and supports deployment to customers by following the correct measures to push features out to customers. Identifies areas to contribute to efforts to integrate logging and instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behavior such as performance, reliability, usage, and safety mechanisms, and for allowing monitoring and investigating security-related concerns for both live and A/B experiments. Contributes to efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility. Applies best practices to build code based on well-established methods and secure design principles while also applying best practices for new code development and formal validation of security invariants. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of psychological safety where everyone can thrive at work.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Develops a clear test strategy and executes tests including security testing with minimal supervision, improving coverage and reliability.</li><li> Identifies dependencies and collaborates with other teams to integrate and validate overlapping concerns while contributing to design documentation.</li><li> Provides feedback on architectural proposals and collaborates on design decisions, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance with security and privacy standards.</li><li> Ensures correct processes for security, privacy, safety, and accessibility compliance are followed and maintains awareness of regulatory requirements.</li><li> Applies best practices for coding, security, and scalability, supports deployment practices including safe change deployment and rollback planning.</li><li> Acts as a designated responsible individual (DRI) for live site monitoring, incident response, and improving operational documentation to enhance reliability.</li><li> Collaborates with stakeholders to understand user requirements and incorporates customer insights as well as contributes to code reviews and continuous quality improvement.</li><li> Embodies our culture and values.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Required/Minimum Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Other Requirements<br><br></strong>Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:<br><br><ul><li>Candidates must have an active TS and be willing and eligible to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing and eligible to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination. </li><li>Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.</li><li>Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter</li><li>Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance<br><br></li></ul>Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.<br><br>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
