| ROLE

Netflix is reinventing how the world is entertained. Over 260+ million members around the globe enjoy our award-winning movies and TV shows, but most of our growth still lies ahead. The N-Tech Engineering & Reliability organization plays a vital role in developing internal solutions to streamline employee productivity.

Our goal is to make employees' daily activities frictionless and nurture their overall experience, subsequently saving Netflix time and money. As a Software Engineer L5 on the N-Tech Software Engineering team, you will design and build internal products and integrations that improve how employees work every day. You will partner closely with other engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, end-to-end solutions that are reliable, scalable, and easy to operate.

You will contribute to the technical direction within your team or product area, especially around how we apply AI, GenAI, and LLMs to solve concrete enterprise problems. You will own significant projects from design through production, and help improve the quality, efficiency, and maintainability of our systems over time.

| ABOUT YOU

You are a strong, independent engineer who enjoys building high-quality products and solving real business problems. You are comfortable working through ambiguous requirements and turning them into clear, pragmatic solutions. You collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and are able to explain technical tradeoffs in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.

You have a solid track record of building and operating production systems, and you care deeply about code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability. You have meaningful experience with AI/GenAI/LLMs and know how to apply these tools thoughtfully to improve workflows and productivity, even if you are not the primary strategic owner of AI across the organization.

You are growing your influence: you lead projects within your scope, mentor others on your team, and help shape patterns and best practices, while still being very hands-on with design and implementation.

  • Make key technical decisions within your scope on architecture, reliability, performance, and maintainability, while aligning with broader N-Tech patterns and paved paths.
  • Improve and simplify existing systems by reducing complexity, deprecating or decommissioning low-value solutions, and driving migrations or refactors that meaningfully improve quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, other engineers, stakeholders, and vendors to clarify requirements, shape solutions, and deliver value iteratively.
  • Communicate technical issues, tradeoffs, and business impact clearly to your team and stakeholders, tailoring the level of detail to the audience.
