Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center.

Summary:

The Staff Accountant plays an important role in the daily functions of the Finance Department. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to general accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis, A/R and A/P processing, payroll processing, audit assistance, monthly/year-end close processing as well as other various functions. The staff accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities so that general ledger activity, trial balance, and key account reconciliations are adequately prepared and monitored.

  • Process daily cash deposits and reconcile cash transactions to the bank vs ledger, input journal entries.

  • Assist with event settlement journal entries and reconcile ticket receipts per the general ledger vs ticketing audits.

  • Communicate effectively with vendors and customers to establish accounts within general ledger system.

  • Set-up, update and maintain vendors within the general ledger system.

  • Perform the daily accounting tasks related to box office ticket sales.

  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing.

  • Responsible for accounts payable processes and procedures.

  • Assist with accounts receivable processes and procedures.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Work with department heads and finance team to assist with the annual budget process and assist with department expense review throughout the fiscal year.

  • Perform the event related food and beverage accounting functions and month-end cost of sales/inventory reconciliation.

  • Regular in-person attendance is an essential job function.

  • Position requires the ability to work at all Legends Global Wichita area facilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance position.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience of the above.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Experience in payroll data entry.

  • Microsoft D365 and ADP knowledge a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting.

  • Ability to multi-task under above average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines and possess a high level of attention to detail.

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management and clients.

  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to adapt to change and learn new software.
